Josè Torres

He was a child when he discovered that he was passionate about plastic arts, painting and sculpture.
He was born in Arandas, a city in the Altos Sur region of the state of Jalisco, Mexico. There he began to appreciate and learn from art from an early age, he emigrated to study in Guadalajara where he completed primary and secondary school at El Colegio Francisco Febres Cordero, acquiring the best of his teachers, always giving priority to plastic arts. This later motivated him to study sculpture and painting with different masters and academies.

He studied at the Universidad De Guadalajara, La Preparatoria and La Carrera de Arquitectura. He is the founder and member of the IIDA International Interior Design Association, Guadalajara Chapter
His studio and laboratory José Torres Collection began in 1980 where, in love with his work, he created works in clay-clay, wood, fibers and resins, bronze and mixtures of different materials, creating high quality decorative pieces, human figures, abstract forms and painting, integrating mixed techniques creating complements between the different arts.

His work has been published in several interior design and decoration magazines.
He has created exclusive works for important design and interior design and hospitality studios in several countries.
Throughout his career he has received national and international awards and recognitions.

He participates in several exhibitions and galleries in Mexico, the United States, Canada and several cities in Europe, Australia and other countries.
